Summary Report On activities of the A.D.Sakharov Armenian Human

In the quarterly narrative reports of the A.D.Sakharov Armenian
Human Right Center (hereinafter Sakharov Center) that is reflected
the process of implementation of the activities planned in Annex “B”
/point 23/ of the “Human Rights Protection through Strengthening the
NGOs” project /grant # 15119/.
Brief data on the project are presented below. During the reporting
period, the Sakharov Center with its branches (Shirak, Gegharkunick,
and Syunik marzes) has organized and carried out:

seminars, lectures, trainings, facultative seminars, thematic
discussions and group legal consultations in 40 rural
communities and small towns of the Republic;

representatives of the vulnerable layers of society were
provided with free legal aid and juridical service;
-
61 mass media appearances (including the electronic press);
-
178 appeals to the bodies of the central government and the
Court with issues of protection of the individual beneficiaries
and groups of the Republic’s population;
-
92 appeals to the local bodies of the central government and the
bodies of the local self-government;
-
141 group legal consultations were provided;
-
60 volunteers were prepared and involved in the Sakharov Center
activities (20 volunteers in each of the branches);
-
158 leaflets were prepared and distributed to the residents of
rural communities and to local NGOs (27.500 copies) about local
administrative structures, bodies of local self-government,
national legislation and international standards;
-
Monitoring of the activities of the local self-government bodies
and municipal structures with the purpose to define the level of
transparency, publicity and accessibility of their activities;
-
Informing the population and the civil society structures of the
Shirak, Gegharkunick, and Syunik marzes about the target project
tasks of the “Millennium Challenges – Armenia” Program;

Analysis of the proper sections of the National Legislation to
define the level of their relevance to the RA Constitution. The
analysis results were presented to the RA Government and the
central bodies of the Government;

Monitoring of the RA National Assembly elections (an analytical
paper has
been developed);
-
Activities of the resource-centers on the technical,
organizational and human base of the Sakharov Center regional
branches.
